In Power BI, visuals refer to the graphical representations or charts that display data in a visually meaningful way. These visuals can include various chart types such as bar charts, line charts, pie charts, maps, tables, and more.
In Powerops, the list of visuals used in a Power BI Report can be found under the Visuals Sub-Section of the Report Section.
The visual formatting options are further divided into:
The Data Tab consists of data-related information used to generate a visual. This includes:
Visual Title
Visual Type
Parent Group Name
Fields Used
Visual Filters
Tooltips
Default Sort
Sort Axis By
Sort Axis Order
The "Fields Used" column is marked with different icons to identify measures, columns and more in order to make it easier for the user to understand.
The formatting consists of visual formatting related information. This includes:
Visual Title - Shows the title of the visual.
Visual Type - Shows the visual type accompanied by a visual icon.
Parent Group Name - Displays the name of the Visual Group or sub-group (if present).
Visual Specific Format - Displays the formatting details of each visual.
Cross-highlighting - Selecting a value in one visual highlights the related data in visuals such as column and bar charts. Cross-highlighting doesn't remove the unrelated data from those visuals. The unrelated data is still visible but dimmed.
Cross-filtering - Selecting a value in one visual acts more like a filter in other visuals, such as line charts, scatter charts, and maps. In those visuals, only the related data remains visible. The unrelated data isn't visible, just as you'd see with a filter.
If the visual lacks a title, the value will be empty. If conditional formatting is applied to the visual title, the title will be preceded by the term "fx" like below
For custom visuals, the icon will include a "C" like below.
