In Power BI, parameters are like tools that help you make a filter or a variable for calculations that you can use in different reports and visuals. They let you change what data shows up in your visualizations, so you can make reports and charts that zoom in on specific parts of your data.
In Power BI, field parameters refer to dynamic filters or variables that you create based on fields within your dataset. These parameters allow you to adjust the data displayed in your reports and visualizations dynamically. Essentially, they act as flexible controls that enable you to focus on specific segments of your data by selecting or filtering fields.
Parameter: A variable that can be adjusted to modify data retrieval or calculations.
Parameter Name: Name assigned to a parameter for identification.
Parameter Field: The specific field associated with the parameter.
Parameter Order: Sequence in which parameters are applied.
Add slicer to page: Inclusion of a slicer tool for interactive filtering in a visual report.
Numeric parameters in Power BI are values that you can set to represent numbers, such as quantities or ranges. These parameters allow you to dynamically adjust numerical values in your reports and visualizations, making it easier to analyze and understand your data.
Name: Identifier for the numeric parameter
Data Type: Type of data associated with the parameter (e.g., integer, decimal).
Min Range: Minimum allowed value for the parameter.
Max range: Maximum allowed value for the parameter.
Incremented By: Step size or interval between values.
Default Value: Value assigned to the parameter.
Add slicer to page: Option to include a slicer for convenient filtering.
Expression: Mathematical or logical formula defining the parameter's value or behavior.
